Materials
- 12 stainless steel bowls (8–10 inches in diameter)
- Red spray paint suitable for metal
- White acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- Thick brown tree branches (sturdy enough to hold the bowls)
- Warm white LED puck lights or strip lights
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Sandpaper (optional, for roughening the surface)
Directions
- Clean the stainless steel bowls thoroughly. If needed, lightly sand the surface to help the paint adhere better.
- Spray-paint the outside of each bowl red. Apply several thin coats, allowing each coat to dry completely before adding the next.
- Once dry, use white acrylic paint to add dots to the domed side, mimicking mushroom caps. Vary the size and placement for a natural effect.
- Choose sturdy tree branches to act as stems, ensuring they can support the bowls.
- Attach each bowl to a branch using a hot glue gun, positioning it open-side down like a mushroom cap.
- Place warm white LED lights inside each bowl and secure them with adhesive or glue if needed.
- Arrange your finished mushroom lights in your garden, making sure they are stable and easy to turn on and off.
Variations & Tips
- Try different cap colors like blue or yellow for a unique look.
- Use solar-powered LEDs for an eco-friendly option.
- Mix bowl and branch sizes for a more dynamic display.
